Today’s song is Demons by Imagine Dragons.
To be honest, I only picked this song cause someone told me about Imagine Dragons just recently and this was the first song I listened to by them. BUT it is a fantastic song with great lyrics and a smooth melody. Enjoy!
Here’s the song for this week! I know nothing about the artist or the song but I love it! Enjoy.
Today’s Tunesday is actually really random. I was just listening to some music on my laptop while working on my paper and decided to post this song for you guys! The song is called All I Do is Dream of You, and is sung in this version by Michael Buble but was originally performed in my all time favorite musical Singin’ in the Rain with Gene Kelly. I love the swing band and the background singers in this version and how Michael has jazzed up the vocal melody.
Hope you enjoy it!
This week’s Tunesday song is Rhythm of Love by the Plain White T’s. I have always loved this band, especially their hits Hey There Delilah and 1,2,3,4. My boyfriend and I both love this song and we like singing it in the car whenever we hear it 🙂 Enjoy!
PS I love the vintage look to this music video! 🙂
Over the weekend I was in a horse competition and they were playing music all day. Most of the songs were related to racing or were upbeat, but the one song they didn’t play that I thought would be perfect was Don’t Stop (Color the Walls) by Foster the People. The song is upbeat and the idea of “don’t stop” is perfect for games! So here it is, the song of the week!
It’s Tunesday Tuesday! This week’s featured song is “Say Hey (I Love You)” by Michael Franti and Spearhead. Uplifting and inspiration like all of his music, Michael Franti’s signature song is perfect for the first day of spring! Michael Franti’s music is a combination of hip-hop, reggae, funk, folk and jazz. He supports many different peace a social justice issues.
His official website quotes him saying “Music is sunshine. Like sunshine, music is a powerful force that can instantly and almost chemically change your entire mood. Music gives us new energy and a stronger sense of purpose. Music is something you can’t hold in your hands, smell it, taste it or even see it, yet somehow just coming together and feeling these little vibrations that tickle our eardrums can somehow lift us all up out of our most difficult moments in life to unimaginable heights.”
The song “Say Hey” is one of my personal favorites. It is the first song by Michael Franti and Spearhead that I heard and I have been crazy for their music since! So watch the video and be inspired by the music of Michael Franti and Spearhead. 😀
This is just an update on what’s going on. Today I am leaving for Louisville for my spring break! Woohoo! I’m not sure if I will be able to post anything over break, but I’ll try. Over the break I will at the least be working on my next short article post and Tunesday song of the Week. I also plan to be riding horses with my best friend this coming week so I might get some pictures up here of that.
Tonight, instead of unpacking and staying up late watching old TV shows with the family, I plan on going straight to dinner with my boyfriend and some friends of ours who are playing in the high school musical pit orchestra. I did the pit orchestra three years in high school and let me tell you we musicians have the play memorized before the actors do! It seemed like every scene was done over and over again, especially if they had to dance. But honestly, I’m glad I did it. I learned a LOT about playing in a small group and also about transposing trombone, flute, violin and viola into cello! Maybe that will be my next short-article blog “My Life as a Pit Musician” or better yet “My Struggles with Playing the Cello in a Jazz Band”! We shall see what comes…until then have a great weekend everybody and keep on truckin’!
